Peanut Butter & Jelly Revelation

As I was standing at the kitchen counter just now, making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for dinner, I had a revelation. You are going to be surprised, I know. I am a grown woman with two children, and you would think I would have figured these things out long ago. Ok, here it is. I figured out that if you stirred the jelly in the jar it would be much easier to spread. Do you know how many years I have struggled trying to spread jelly onto bread? Wow, I know that wasn't very exciting, but for me, it is wonderful news. Do you know how much faster it is to spread the jelly after you stir it in the jar? Lots, let me tell you. This is not to mention all the bread ripping you avoid. Well, Mama's happy, and that counts for something, doesn't it?

And, here's a bonus. I actually found a recipe for making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on the internet. Click the picture to see.....

Now I know what to get you for Christmas next year, "The Complete Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookbook." I didn't know you could find a recipe online of how to make a PP&J sandwich.

I hope the girls enjoyed their dinner.

I love peanutbutter & Jelly sandwiches...but I never had any trouble spreading the jelly. I think it just depends on what kind of jelly or preserves you are using.

I do have trouble spreading grape jelly and will take your advise and stir it first.

Thanks for the tip.

Motherkitty, you'd better not get me that kind of cookbook! Our family has traditionally used grape jelly, others may not be that hard to spread. PB & J is pretty popular and well eaten around here, except for the crusts.
