Signs of Spring

I found this crocus on the way to the mailbox this morning. It motivated to look around for signs of spring. The other buds are coming up in the snow under the rosebud.

After the rest of the snow melts in our yard I may be seeing similar signs of spring. Thanks for posting the very nice photos of the crocuses and other plants.

Oh it's so beautiful it's breaking my heart! Spring is so far away here, but it's coming, and your pictures are the proof.

Those are beautiful photos of spring. I see you've inherited that picture taking talent, from your mom and aunt in Las Vegas.

Keep up the good work.

Feb 22...I just had to come back and look at those pretty flowers again. I haven't seen any sign of a bloom yet over here.

Great pictures.

Well, you need to plant some hostas and ajuga and ferns in your shady places. Anemones do well in filtered light, they are bulbs you plant. False Solomon's-seal would do well in your zone. Astilbe is nice, it grows 2 1/2 feet tall and likes some shade. Heuchera is one of my favorites, very delicate. So there is a list of shade loving perennials that you could start with. If your local nursery doesn't have them, try the internet for mail order plants. Gardening is such a wonderful investment of your time. Once established, you will enjoy these plants for many years.
