Relief

I only have a few minutes to post, I am sure...some little one will wake up and call for me. In the meantime, I wanted to express the relief and thankfulness I am feeling about my mom's knee surgery and her recovery. I am so happy she is at home. I am so glad that dad is there with her. I have no doubt whatsoever that there is no one better suited to help her recover and get strong than him. I am so thankful for all of Motherkitty's blogfriends. I know you have been some of her biggest supporters, and that means a lot to me. It is good to know someone is thinking of you and praying for you, even around the world.

I am temporarily stuck at home because the mechanic has had a lot of trouble replacing a broken turn signal switch on my van. I am spending the time unpacking, cleaning up, taking the girls outside, and thinking of mom and dad.

I am so happy the surgery went well. My mom is so strong, and I have no doubt she is happy and relieved to be home, too. Dad will help her each day to do what needs to be done, and as soon as I am mobile again, the girls and I will start making more regular trips to Grandma and Grandpa's house to help out. Hopefully we will not be in the way.

Seeing my brother and his wife was definitely a highlight of the year. It was so good to see my girls love them and cling to them. I know they have made many wonderful memories. Being with mom and dad before and after the surgery was something I wanted to do. It would not have been possible if it were not for my husband and his mom. They were so sweet to watch the girls. I am so thankful to them because I felt I really needed to be with mom. I don't know if it was just a selfish motive, or if it was for her, but I am glad everything worked out. I was glad that dad didn't have to wait alone during mom's surgery. We had some really good talks together.

So much has gone on that I had almost completely forgotten Passover and Easter. So I hope that everyone has had a good week and made some good memories with your families. I hope you have taken time to slow down and enjoy your parents and/or your children. I hope you have taken time to thank the One True God for the good life He has given us. I am thankful for all that He has done for my family.

The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.
Numbers 6:24-26

I am so glad that you were able to go be with your mom & dad before, during & after the surgery. I had made up my mind that I was going to be there to wait with your dad during surgery if you hadn't gone for some unforseen reason, not of your choosing.

It was a time that your parents needed you and you were there for them.
Have a Happy Easter.

Your Dad needed you to be with him during the surgery - I am glad you had some nice talks.
I am really glad Motherkitty is home and hope she starts recoving without any proplems.
Since December 6 of last year I have been taking care of my room mate who fell off a scaffolding at work - fractured his pelvis, hip bone and tore his rotor cup to pieces on his right arm - he is right handed so it has been hard for him. He is on the mend now but will have to have surgery again on his shoulder.
